The Gaeta Museum Complex is born

The Gaeta Museum Pole is born, bringing together several church museums in the city in the province of Latina.

The activities of the newly formed Gaeta Museum Complex (province of Latina), a new entity that, in the city facing the shores of the Tyrrhenian Sea, unites under a single “umbrella” the Cathedral Basilica complex, the crypt of St. Erasmus, the Diocesan Museum, the Santissima Annunziata Complex and the Golden Chapel, as well as permanent and temporary exhibitions, are officially kicking off. The Museum Complex has been equipped with an info point (on Annunziata Street, at the side entrance of the Santissima Annunziata Shrine), and two ticket desks are available at the Diocesan Museum (in De Vio Square) and at the base of the Cathedral bell tower (in Pope Gelasius Square).

“The new Museum Complex opens its doors,” comments Diocesan Museum director Fr. Gennaro Petruccelli. "After the very successful initiative of The Nights of the Annunciation, from September it will be possible to visit all the sites and, above all, to have a competent organization available, which will be able to meet every need for hours and accompaniment. We are working to keep our cultural sites, but even more so our churches more and more open."

The new Museum Pole was created through a collaboration between the Archdiocese of Gaeta and the Santissima Annunziata Public Assistance and Benefit Institute (IPAB) of Gaeta, with the collaboration of the Ante Omnia association. Opening hours from September 2018: the Cathedral Complex and the Annunziata Complex daily from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the Diocesan Museum on Fridays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. For info and reservations, you can visit anteomnia.it, call 350.5675589, or email prenotazioni@anteomnia.it.
