From June 24 to July 27, 2026, the Pompeii Archaeological Park site will host the third edition of BOP - Beats of Pompeii, a summer concert festival taking place inside the Amphitheater area. The program includes a total of 20 concerts with 16 national and international artists, some of which are already sold out in advance. The review is part of an evening opening device of the archaeological site, scheduled on the dates of the musical events. Access covers some areas of the park at night, with the possibility of also visiting the permanent exhibition set up in the Palestra Grande, dedicated to theeruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD and casts of the victims. The exhibit was recently opened and remains usable during concert evenings.

The schedule includes concerts by artists such as Of Monsters and Men, BEAT, Riccardo Cocciante, Pat Metheny, Opeth, Coez, Vinicio Capossela, Tropico with double date, Riccardo Muti, Claudio Baglioni with double date, Marcus Miller, Charlie Puth, Marillion with double date and Savatage. Also scheduled outside the festival are the double date with Nino D’Angelo and the concert È mio padre - Morricone Dirige Morricone, dedicated to the legacy of Ennio Morricone. The program also includes activities related to the agricultural dimension of the site. In the vineyard of the open-air Triclinium House , located behind the Palestra Grande and Amphitheater, an experience dedicated to the history of ancient Pompeii viticulture and contemporary practices is planned. The activity is run by Tenute Capaldo - Feudi di San Gregorio, the park’s partner in vineyard development, with tastings and insights into wine production. Evening offerings also include access to the Casina dell’Aquila restaurant, a late 18th-century building within the site, with reservations for dinners or aperitifs on the panoramic terrace on certain dates. Food service in the area of the Palestra Grande is taken care of by Chora, which is also active during performance evenings.

An additional element of the project concerns the involvement of Parvula Domus, which is engaged in the management of the park’s green areas and in social inclusion activities aimed at visitors. The staff is present in the Palestra Grande during events. To facilitate the return of spectators at the end of the concerts, there is a shuttle service organized by the Campania Region, available by reservation subject to availability and intended for connections to Naples.

The festival is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, and is organized in collaboration with the Campania Region and the Municipality of Pompeii. The technical organization is entrusted to Blackstar Entertainment and Fast Forward, with media partnership of Radio2. According to data released by the organizers, the format registers a strong presence of international audiences. In particular, on some dates such as those of the Marillion, more than 60 percent of the tickets turn out to have been purchased abroad, with peaks reaching 70 percent on specific dates. The phenomenon is pointed out as one of the factors in the increase of tourist flows in the Campania area.

Tickets for the concerts are available on the Ticketone and Ticketmaster circuits, while for the concert È mio padre - Morricone Dirige Morricone presale is also active on Vivaticket. Admission to the park for visitors not participating in the musical events is provided with ordinary tickets and concessionary rates according to current regulations. All up-to-date information on times and access is available on the official channels of the archaeological park.

Statements

“Events of this magnitude,” said Vice President Mario Casillo, “require an increasingly welcoming and connected city. For this reason, on the occasion of the BOP - Beats of Pompeii festival and the major events planned in the Amphitheater of the Pompeii Ruins, we will work together with EAV to provide for an increase in evening bus rides, so as to facilitate the arrival and return of spectators and offer an additional possibility of mobility for the public.”

“I believe that Pompeii represents today more than ever the international face of Campania,” added Tourism Councillor Vincenzo Maraio. “Here history, archaeology, music and contemporary culture meet in an experience unique in the world. Events such as Beats of Pompeii are fundamental for the territorial promotion of our region: they attract international audiences, enhance the cultural heritage and generate an important tourist and economic inducement.”

“The summer programming of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii embodies the ideal synergy between innovation, promotion and internationalization that should guide the cultural planning of our region,” concluded Culture Councillor Onofrio Cutaia. “Through contemporary and original artistic choices, historic places are transformed into welcoming spaces, also capable of intercepting different audiences. The festival follows the common thread of innovation that does not betray the history of the places, of promotion that enhances the territory without forgetting the local communities, of internationalization that dialogues with great local talents, while maintaining absolute quality as the only true thread of the entire project.”

“After the great successes of the previous editions, with the likes of Nick Cave, Jean-Michel Jarre, Dream Theater, Ben Harper, John Legend, Ludovico Einaudi, Stefano Bollani and others, BOP consolidates its reputation as a ”cross-genre“ festival of excellence,” says the festival’s artistic director Giuseppe Gomez, “capable of hosting, in the same billboard, icons of progressive, metal, jazz, folk, legends of Italian music and protagonists of contemporary classical music, combining the appeal of big names with one of the most iconic settings in the world and offering a high-level entertainment experience.”

“Radio2 is proud to partner with this unique review, which is capable of bringing great contemporary music into dialogue with history and archaeology,” says Rai Radio2 Director Giovanni Alibrandi, “a program that crosses styles, languages and musical generations, perfectly reflecting Radio2’s editorial path. This network firmly believes that music has the power to create community, break down distances and generate dialogue between different cultures and languages.”
