Starting June 7, the first Sunday of the month free at Rome's Civic Museums returns

Starting June 7, free admission returns on the first Sunday of the month at the Civic Museums of Rome.

From Sunday, June 7, free admission is back on the first Sunday of the month in Rome’s Civic Museums.

The initiative is promoted by Roma Capitale, Assessorato alla Crescita culturale - Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali with the museum services of Zètema Progetto Cultura.

“Everyone, Romans and non-Romans alike, every first Sunday of the month, starting right from the first Sunday in June, can return to discover the museums and archaeological areas of Roma Capitale with free admission,” said Luca Bergamo, deputy mayor of Rome with responsibility for Cultural Growth. “In this time of economic hardship for so many and so many families to have the opportunity to spend time together - always following the indications such as compulsory reservation, spacing out and the use of masks - both in the Civic Museums as at the Circus Maximus and the Imperial Forums, I believe it is an opportunity that in Rome we want to continue to support: a positive message of recovery through cultural life accessible to all, discovering history, science, art and archaeology. The first Sundays of the month free of charge return to add to the admissions to our spaces with the MIC, the card for students and residents in Rome and the Metropolitan City, which for 12 months at 5 euros, allows entry to the entire Civic Museum System. For the Administration, these are concrete steps to realize both Article 3 and Article 9 of our Constitution, like Article 27 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In fact, living the experience of knowledge together with others creates added value: it identifies us as a community, unites us, and will allow us to acquire and develop together the tools to overcome and resist in this complex historical moment that is likely to last for a long time.”

Visits will be conducted in compliance with planned anti-Covid19 security measures.

Reservations are mandatory by calling 060608.
You can enter only on your turn by showing your digital or paper reservation.
