The Rai event series dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci will arrive in 2021, but in the meantime the trailer (viewable at this link) has been released as a world premiere.

Produced by Luca and Matilde Bernabei’s Lux Vide, in collaboration with Rai Fiction and Big Light Productions in association with France Télévisions and Rtve, co-produced and distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment, it was created by Frank Spotnitz and Steve Thompson and directed by Dan Percival and Alexis Sweet.

The lead genius of the much-anticipated series will be played by Irish actor and voice actor Aidan Turner; principal actors include Giancarlo Giannini, who will play Andrea del Verrocchio, Matilda De Angelis will be Caterina da Cremona, Freddie Highmore will dress the role of Stefano Giraldi, the Podestà’s young investigator charged with solving the mystery at the center of the story; Carlos Cuevas will be Salaì, Leonardo’s apprentice and trusted friend; and Ludovico il Moro will be played by James D’Arcy.
