OnSaturday, September 28, the second episode of the new season of Ulysses, the Pleasure of Discovery, a program hosted by Alberto Angela, will be aired in prime time on Raiuno. The episode will be entirely dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci, on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the great genius’ death.

Alberto Angela will take viewers to Amboise, where Leonardo da Vinci spent the last years of his life, and through his works the many facets of the genius will be illustrated: artist, scientist, engineer, painter, musician, sculptor and architect.

From the manor house that the King of France Francis I gave him, we will travel to Florence, where the young Leonardo went to Andrea del Verrocchio’s workshop, and in the Tuscan capital Alberto Angela will move to the Leonardo Room of the Uffizi Galleries, where the artist’s early masterpieces are on display.

From Florence we will travel to Milan: the city where Leonardo lived for seventeen years at the court of Ludovico il Moro. Here, among other masterpieces, he created the famous Last Supper.

Thanks to the extraordinary participation of Giorgia, viewers will have the opportunity to listen to a piece freely taken from some of Leonardo’s compositions, because the genius was also fond of music.
