While waiting for the 61st International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, entitled In Minor Keys and curated by Koyo Kouoh, the contemporary art system is preparing for a new exhibition cycle of wide international scope. The activity of Art Events, a company that has been active for more than ten years between Milan and Venice, a reference reality in the field of events related to art and culture, specializing in the management of exhibition spaces and the development of cultural projects of international scope, fits into this scenario. After a start of the year marked by collaborations and initiatives also related to the Olympic Games and exhibitions such as that of artist and digital photographer Jacopo Di Cera at Turati Gallery, the company is preparing for a new season on the occasion of the Biennale Arte 2026.
Art Events’ presence at the Venetian event is articulated through a series of projects followed and developed over time, including national pavilions, official collateral events and independent initiatives spread throughout the urban fabric of the city. Participations include, among others, those of the pavilions of Armenia and Montenegro, which are included in a design continuity that recalls collaborations already initiated at the Architecture Biennale. This continuity highlights a long-term strategy based on building relationships that are stabilized over time.
The approach adopted by Art Events is based on a precise centrality attributed to the exhibition space, understood as an active element of the curatorial project. Historic palaces, reconverted environments and places in the city are interpreted as narrative devices, capable of influencing the perception of the works and amplifying their contents. In this sense, Venice represents a particularly relevant context, in which the relationship between architecture, art and urban fabric helps to redefine the very meaning of the exhibition.
“Our group wants to contribute to the protection of Italy’s historical and architectural heritage by bringing in ancient properties cultural projects (especially contemporary art, but not only) that generate resources for their preservation,” explains Filippo Perissinotto, president of Art Events and Cultural Real Estate Studio. “In this sense, for several years, we have also been working in a portion of the Procuratie Vecchie in St. Mark’s Square; again also for this Art Biennale 2026 by organizing the Starak Foundation’s exhibition there. The Biennale has always represented one of the most significant moments in Venetian and international cultural life. It is also the period when the extraordinary potential of the city’s historic locations emerges most strongly. Being able to collaborate with international interlocutors in a context of exceptional historical and symbolic value such as the Procuratie Vecchie represents for us a profound satisfaction and, at the same time, a recognition of the path we are building.”
The Starak Family Foundation, a Polish philanthropic organization established in 2008 by Jerzy Starak together with his wife Anna, is now one of the country’s most important private entities in the field of cultural patronage and support for new artistic generations. Alongside this commitment, it preserves a relevant collection of post-World War II contemporary art.
On the occasion of the 61st Venice Art Biennale, the Foundation is presenting at the Procuratie Vecchie the exhibition Tadeusz Kantor (1915-1990). Emballage, Cricotage and Madame Jarema (May 7-Nov. 22), a collateral event dedicated to the relationship between Kantor and Maria Jarema, with an in-depth look at the concepts of emballage and cricotage within the Polish avant-garde scene.
In the overall framework of activities, Art Events presents for the Biennale Arte 2026 a project map that exceeds one hundred initiatives carried out over time in the biennial sphere. The program returns an articulated geography of interventions, distributed among national pavilions, official collateral events and independent exhibitions, outlining a widespread presence on the Venetian territory and a network of consolidated relationships with international institutions and operators.

Alongside its exhibition projects, the company also develops special initiatives that interweave visual research and design experimentation. These include the collaboration with artist Paola Momentè, on the occasion of the creation of the tote bag for the Biennale 2026. For this edition, the process was expanded through an open call on Instagram aimed at contemporary artists active in Venice.
The selection led to a collaboration with Paola Momentè, a Venetian illustrator whose research focuses on the perceptual dimension of landscape and the relationships between space and visual imagery. The project fits into the In Minor Keys theme, proposing an interpretation of Venice as a space characterized by subtle variations, suspended rhythms and nonlinear perceptual registers. At the center of the visual composition is the lagoon sky, interpreted as a dynamic and unstable element, capable of rendering a changing dimension of the urban experience. In Momentè’s work, clouds take on a connecting function between individual and collective dimensions, building a visual texture that relates different levels of perception. The tote bag thus becomes a narrative support, rather than a promotional object, which translates into visual form a reflection on the landscape and its shared perception.
Paola Momentè, an illustrator based in Venice, trained between IUAV and ISIA of Urbino and collaborates with cultural institutions and publishers including Corraini Edizioni, Einaudi Ragazzi, Bompiani, Marsilio Editori, Palazzo Grassi - Punta della Dogana, Peggy Guggenheim Collection and IUAV University. Her work focuses on the intersection of illustration, visual identity and exhibition contexts.
Art Events, founded in Venice over ten years ago, now operates between Venice and Milan collaborating with cultural institutions, artists and international organizations. The company is particularly active in the context of the Venice Biennale, where it has been contributing for years to the creation of exhibitions, national pavilions and collateral events. Its work is based on the integration of architectural heritage enhancement, cultural design and event organization, with the aim of developing projects that relate contemporary art, history and territory.
Milan and Venice constitute the main territorial references of Art Events. For more information you can consult the official website www.art-events.it, write to the email address info@art-events.it or follow the Instagram profile @artevents.it.
