Buongiorno Ceramica!, the widespread celebration in 40 Italian cities dedicated to the art of ceramics

On May 18 and 19, 2019, 40 Italian cities will hold the event, now in its fifth year, Buongiorno Ceramica!

On May 18 and 19, 2019, the widespread celebration of Italian Ceramics is back: the initiative now in its fifth edition will include two days dedicated to the discovery of Italian artistic and artisanal ceramics, between ancient traditions and novelties.

Buongiorno Ceramica!, this is the title of the event, will include extraordinary openings of ceramic workshops, museums, studios and ateliers, as well as guided tours, exhibitions, workshops, laboratories, concerts, performances, children’s activities, aperitifs with the Master and much more.
It will be a festival dedicated to creativity andcraftsmanship for adults and children: participants will be able to learn about the ceramic production made by the ceramists themselves and even become ceramists themselves for these two days, perhaps discovering an innate gift.

The events of Buongiorno Ceramica! are organized by the individual Italian Cities of Ceramics, 40 cities across the peninsula: Albisola Superiore, Albissola Marina, Ariano Irpino, Ascoli Piceno, Assemini, Bassano del Grappa, Borgo San Lorenzo, Burgio, Caltagirone, Castellamonte, Castelli, Cava dei Tirreni, Cerreto Sannita, Civita Castellana, Cutrofiano, Deruta, Este, Faenza, Grottaglie, Gualdo Tadino, Gubbio, Impruneta, Laterza, Laveno Mombello, Lodi, Mondovì, Montelupo Fiorentino, Naples-Capodimonte, Nove, Oristano, Orvieto, San Lorenzello, Santo Stefano di Camastra, Sciacca, Sesto Fiorentino, Squillace, Urbania, Vietri sul Mare, and Viterbo.

This year it will be even easier to choose the destinations where to go to participate in the weekend of ceramic art, as a Guide Le Città della Ceramica( The Cities of Ceramics) has been published by Touring Club Italiano in collaboration with theAssociation of Ceramic Cities (AiCC), which can be purchased in bookstores.

Buongiorno Ceramica! also includes numerous side events: the permanent project Fame concreta, organized by Aicc with Martina Liverani, will link the worlds of food and ceramics; Matres Week, on the other hand, will propose initiatives dedicated to the valorization of ceramics by women, starting from Cava dei Tirreni and involving many other cities, including abroad: in Bulgaria, Croatia, Spain, Sweden and Turkey.

Buongiorno Ceramica! is a project promoted and organized by AiCC - Italian Association of Ceramic Cities.

"With Buongiorno Ceramica! we want to promote artistic and artisanal ceramics, to bring it back to the center of Italian sensibility and customs. During these two days everyone can discover workshops, laboratories, ateliers, but also museums and other places where ceramic is made and thought about on a daily basis. The dialogue and confrontation with the public is also a stimulus for the ceramists and artists themselves who passionately carry on a very ancient and always contemporary art. As alive as the material and clay they shape. The growing success of Buongiorno Ceramica confirms that we have intercepted a passion and perhaps even an inclination of Italians. That is why with AiCC, Italian Association of Ceramic Cities, promoter of the event, throughout the year we carry on a permanent mobilization on the theme of ceramics, always keeping alive the attention and passion on this art that represents the cultural identity for so many Italian territories," said Massimo Isola, president of AiCC.

The events will have free admission and will take place from 10 a.m. to midnight on May 18 and 19, 2019.
