Statements

“The 23rd Triennale Milano International Exhibition, taking place at a time in history whose future has never been more unpredictable,” declares Dimitri S. Kerkentzes, Secretary General of the BIE, “will be an extraordinary forum that transcends boundaries, in search of unseen mysteries, new perspectives and unthinkable answers. Through a theme that breaks new ground on what lies beyond the limits of our senses and knowledge, this edition of the International Exhibition will bring together countries from around the world in a joint effort to reflect on the unknown.”

“We are very happy with the accessions we have received for the 23rd International Exhibition,” says Stefano Boeri, President of Triennale Milano. “In fact, the decision to move the opening of the Exposition to July allowed us to expand the number of participating countries and ensure a greater presence of foreign visitors. In a dramatic moment like the one we are living through, we believe it is more important than ever to preserve and enhance opportunities for dialogue between different countries, cultures, and peoples. And this is exactly the intent of the 23rd International Exhibition: to open a space for discussion where curators, artists, designers, architects, scientists, schools and collectives from all over the world can meet and freely discuss how to extend the boundaries of our knowledge and reduce the grey areas that still shroud our planet.”
