The fifth edition of the Cultural Journalism Festival will be held in Urbino, Pesaro and Fano, an opportunity to discuss and debate around the most pressing issues affecting cultural heritage. Four days, from October 12 to 15, 2017, in the company of the major protagonists of current cultural journalism in a program that already promises to be decidedly dense.

Among the topics that will be discussed at the festival, directed by Lella Mazzoli and Giorgio Zanchini, are the communication of museums towards the public, the disasters and beauties of cultural heritage, the practices of online and offline cultural information, digital technologies for communication, dissemination and protection of cultural heritage. Space will also be given to the relationship between art and television and issues revolving around tourism. The meetings will be hosted at the Palazzo Ducale in Urbino, the Pescheria Visual Arts Center in Pesaro, the Teatro Rossini in Pesaro, the Biblioteca San Giovanni in Pesaro, the Teatro della Fortuna in Fano and the Palazzo Bambini in Fano.

“The Festival,” the presentation reads, “will be an opportunity to shed light on both areas. Four days between Urbino, Pesaro and Fano, in which we will host leading personalities in the cultural sector, professionals, critics and journalists, museum directors and managers. We will start as we do every year with research from the News-Italy Observatory, and there will be events, concerts, exhibitions. We will recount, through comparisons and experiences, the vanguards of a multifaceted and rapidly evolving sector, and we will multiply the spaces to allow the public to engage with our guests, so as to make the Festival more and more lively and participatory.” The program can already be viewed on the Festival website, www.festivalgiornalismoculturale.it. Also on the site are calls for entries for competitions reserved for schools and young people, all on the theme of cultural journalism. Also already active are the social pages. One can participate in discussions with the hashtags #fgc and #fgcult.
