A sensual and spontaneous female figure, not to be judged: the photos of Lady Tarin on display in Milan

From Oct. 11 to Nov. 10, 2019, STILL Fotografia space in Milan is hosting the exhibition 'Ladies' by Lady Tarin.

From Oct. 11 to Nov. 10, 2019, STILL Fotografia is hosting in its new Milan location (at 11 Via Zamenhof) the exhibition Ladies, a solo show by Lady Tarin, a photographer from Romagna who trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and investigates female eroticism. The exhibition, curated by Denis Curti, offers the public 25 shots, many of them unpublished, that are part of the projects Untitled (The Fight) and Girls Love Bar Basso.

Narrating the exhibition is Lady Tarin herself: “Through my images,” comments the author, “I want to exorcise the feeling of guilt that too often accompanies a woman’s life, and I would also like the viewer to refrain from judgment, not to attribute guilt, in order to be able to see a sensual and free female figure.” Indeed, the photographer’s desire is to liberate women from a beauty constructed to please men and almost never themselves, as well as to restore tofemale eros the spontaneity and awareness too often denied.

The project Untitled (The Fight), to which many of the shots in the exhibition belong, was produced by SI Fest in Savignano Sul Rubicone, in collaboration with STILL. “In these shots,” comments Lady Tarin, “I tried to capture the maximum expression of freedom also thanks to the synergy with the ’Ladies.’ Awareness and spontaneity are necessary elements in my work, combined with the strong energy created on set.”

The exhibition can be visited Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays by appointment. Admission is free. For information, see the STILL Photography website.
