An exhibition in Turin to tell the story of the odysseys of Humanity.


Palazzo Madama will host an exhibition on the theme of Odysseys, Invasions and Pilgrimages of Humanity from November 16, 2017 to February 19, 2018.

On Nov. 16, the exhibition"Odyssee. Diasporas, Invasions, Migrations, Journeys and Pilgrimages."

An exhibition, which can be visited until Feb. 19, 2018, aims to tell the story of Humanity’s journey on Earth throughout history.
Visitors will be taken through the exhibition’s twelve sections, in chronological order, which will address the theme of migrations, pilgrimages and invasions through some 100 works from the collections of Palazzo Madama and from local and national museums, such as the MAO Museum ofOriental Art of Turin, the Royal Museums of Turin, the Egyptian Museum, the Regional Museum of Natural Sciences, the Museum of Human Anatomy, the Archaeological Museum of Aosta, the Bargello National Museum of Florence, the Museum and Real Bosco of Capodimonte of Naples, and the Ducal Palace of Urbino.
Large maps specially made by Libreria Geografica will serve as a backdrop to each showcase.

Flanking the exhibition will be many initiatives for the public: lectures, workshops and lessons with specialists.

The exhibition was conceived by Palazzo Madama director Guido Curto and curated by the museum’s art historians.
