Andy Warhol's sixty most famous Pop Art icons on display in Portopiccolo


From April 13 to September 22, 2019, the Portopiccolo resort is hosting the exhibition Andy Warhol: Profane as Sacred.

Opening Saturday, April 13, 2019 in the Portopiccolo resort (Trieste) is the exhibition Andy Warhol: Profane as Sacred, open to the public until September 22, 2019.

The exhibition presents gathered together sixty copies of the works of Andy Warhol, a famous American artist exponent of Pop Art: the faces of personalities who became icons of the 1960s, such as Marilyn Monroe and Isabelle Adjani, are then displayed. Also present in the exhibition loft located in Portopiccolo’s Botteghe streets are the icons of consumerism of that era, including the complete series of Campbell’s Soup and memorabilia from the history of American rock.

The exhibition aims to offer its visitors a chance to observe the thousand faces of Andy Warhol, to grasp the deeper meanings of his artistic production and to admire masterpieces that have made the history of American Pop Art. World-famous masterpieces that have been exhibited in exceptional art venues and locations.

The exhibition is accompanied by a catalog published by Skira.

Andy Warhol: Profane as Sacred is organized in collaboration with the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region, Promo Turismo and under the patronage of the Municipality of Duino-Aurisina.

Hours: In April and May from 5 to 8 p.m. (weekdays), 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. (Saturdays, Sundays, pre-holidays and holidays). Closed on Tuesdays.
