Artemisia Gentileschi: the two Judiths of the Uffizi and Capodimonte together on display in Rome

Artemisia Gentileschi's two Judith Beheading Holofernes have arrived at the exhibition in Rome (Palazzo Braschi) dedicated to the seventeenth-century painter.

As of last Saturday, the public of the exhibition Artemisia Gentileschi and her time, dedicated to the great artist Artemisia Gentileschi (Rome, 1593 - Naples, 1653), can admire in the same room and on the same wall the two famous paintings Judith Beheading Holofernes: the version from the Uffizi, already on display, has been joined by the one from the National Museum of Capodimonte in Naples.

The version that arrived Saturday in the rooms of Palazzo Braschi (the exhibition venue, in Rome) is considered the earlier one (it is dated 1617 in the exhibition), while the one from the Uffizi is dated to around 1620. The Judith arriving from Capodimonte is described by organizers as "an exceptional loan that enriches the extraordinary itinerary of the exhibition
Rome." The exhibition will remain open until May 7 (Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.).
