“This exhibition is not just meant to be a showcase of our latest acquisitions, but a true statement of intent on the future of painting,” said Antonio Menon, president of THE BANK ETS Foundation. “The new works that have entered our collection allow us to reaffirm and strengthen the Foundation’s role as a center for the promotion and study of contemporary painting. At the heart of this exhibition is our ongoing commitment to patronage of the younger generation. We believe it is our fundamental responsibility not only to preserve art, but also to actively invest in it, serving as support for artists often at the beginning of their journey. By placing the work of young talents and outsiders - the most vibrant and unconventional voices in today’s debate - alongside that of established artists, we build an essential bridge between past, present and future. In this way, THE BANK ETS Foundation does not merely expand a collection, but actively contributes to enhancing the dynamism and plurality of current trends. We will continue with conviction on this path: promoting new looks to support a generative and bold art ecosystem.”
“Devotees of quality and a return to craft, the authors selected here show, once again, the silent revolution of painting, particularly figurative painting, its ability to renew itself over time in ever more current forms, moving on the bumpy yet ephemeral paths of the developing present,” writes Cesare Biasini Selvaggi, curator of the exhibition and secretary general of THE BANK ETS Foundation. “49 artists who practice a d’après painting to re-enchant the world with symbolic evocations of reality, non-linear metaphorical tales, allusive and hallucinatory. To which are added fairy-tale perceptions with visionary raids between the centuries and among the inhabitants of the imagination of all times, and an imaginative memory that, à la David Lynch, sometimes reduces figures and landscapes to images so essential that they waver on the border of abstraction. Without, however, ever renouncing irony, impertinent references, social criticism, and without forgetting-in the words of critic Alfredo Cramerotti-that Painting is not about ideas, but rather is itself the subject of the work.”
The exhibition, organized under the patronage of the Province of Vicenza and the City of Bassano del Grappa and with the support of Integra Business Consulting, is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays from 4 to 7 p.m. Special opening on Dec. 27 and 28, 2025. Closed on January 3 and 4, 2026. Admission is free.
