In Ancona, the first Guido Harari anthology: more than 300 shots to trace 50 years of his career

Through Oct. 9, 2022, the Mole Vanvitelliana in Ancona is hosting the first anthological exhibition dedicated to photographer Guido Harari to trace fifty years of his career.

The Mole Vanvitelliana in Ancona is hosting until Oct. 9, 2022, the first anthological exhibition dedicated to photographer Guido Harari to retrace through more than three hundred photographs, installations, original films and projections fifty years of the career of one of Italy’s leading photographers. Promoted by the City of Ancona, in collaboration with Rjma Cultural Projects, Wall of Sound Gallery and Maggioli Cultura, Guido Harari. Remain in Light, this is the title of the exhibition, aims to illustrate all the phases of Guido Harari’s eclectic career: from his beginnings in the 1970s as a photographer and journalist in the field of music to portraits intended as an intimate account of his encounters with the major artists and personalities of his time. The evocative exhibition itinerary also includes an audio guide with the narrative voice of Harari himself, a photographic set and meetings with the author.

Many are the portraits that the photographer has taken, where the protagonists are great singers, actors, directors and personalities from the world of entertainment and culture: from Fabrizio De André to Bob Dylan, Vasco Rossi, Lou Reed, Ennio Morricone, Renzo Piano, Giorgio Armani, Carla Fracci, Dario Fo and Franca Rame, Rita Levi Montalcini, Zygmunt Bauman. Never-before-seen images and sequences, video interviews and Sky Arte’s documentary dedicated to him lead visitors into the heart of Harari’s creative process. His work ranges from genre to genre, from publishing to advertising, from fashion to reportage.

Accompanying the exhibition is a large 432-page volume with more than 500 illustrations, published by Rizzoli Lizard.
