In Macerata, four emerging artists present works made together with asylum seekers

From April 27 to May 26, 2019, Palazzo Ricci in Macerata is hosting the exhibition 'Passages. A relational art project'.

On April 27, 2019, the Passaggi project will be inaugurated in Macerata (at Palazzo Ricci). A relational art project, conceived in the fall of 2018 by four emerging artists, Nicola Alessandrini, Alisia Cruciani, Alessio Santoni and Chiara Valentini, when they conducted art workshops with asylum seekers housed in the reception homes managed by the Italian Red Cross in the Macerata area.

The exhibition will therefore present to the public the collective artworks created during the project and a rich documentation of its long artistic and human journey. In addition to this, another part of the exhibition will see some of the works occupy city spaces with the intention of involving its inhabitants more closely, bringing them closer to the themes of the project and the stories it tells. Despite its temporary nature, the project, which moves from a vision of art as a vehicle of communication and a place of proximity, would like to develop a reflection on the changes in contemporary society and also stand as a symbolic response to the tragic news events that have involved the Macerata area.

The exhibition will remain open until May 26. Passages is a project of #McZee realized in collaboration with Italian Red Cross - Macerata Committee. Exhibition curated by Michele Gentili and Giulia Pettinari, artworks by Nicola Alessandrini, Alisia Cruciani, Alessio Santoni, Chiara Valentini, video-documentary by Emanuele Bajo, photographs by Luna Simoncini, installation by Paolo Chiacchiera.
