Kuniyoshi exhibition in Milan extended


The Kuniyoshi exhibition at Milan's Museo della Permanente has been extended until Feb. 4-an extra week to visit.

The exhibition Kuniyoshi. The Visionary of the Floating World, which was originally scheduled to close on Jan. 28. Instead, the exhibition, running at the Museo della Permanente in Via Turati 34 in Milan, will close on Sunday, Feb. 4.

This is the first time the works of Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861) have been exhibited in Italy. Kuniyoshi was one of the great masters ofukiyo-e, the Japanese artistic print on paper imprinted with wooden matrices, which also had a vast influence on Western art (think of the works of van Gogh). The exhibition is produced by MondoMostre Skira and is curated by Rossella Menegazzo. In motra 165 polychrome silographs, all from Japan, to investigate Kuniyoshi’s production in its entirety.
