Milan, art doesn't stop. Fabbrica EOS's proposal for Davide Bramante's solo exhibition.

Milan's Fabbrica EOS proposal to avoid overcrowding at the opening of photographer Davide Bramante's solo exhibition.

Fabbrica EOS in Milan presents from March 6 to April 18 the solo exhibition of Davide Bramante (Syracuse, 1970), entitled New York, New Delhi, New Old, curated by Giacinto Di Pietrantonio.

“My way of photographing is identical to my way of remembering, thinking, dreaming, hoping, everything happens by temporal and spatial superimpositions,” Bramante himself stressed. The curator calls him “an artist who has chosen photography to be on the side of art”: his works are simultaneous visions that are often likened to a futurist style.

Through layering, Bramante creates images that reflect contemporary society in an overlapping interplay of light and shadow, coming together in up to nine frames. “The new cities are re-imaginings of older cities that exist around the world, powerful cities that nonetheless are inspired by Rome and our history. Most of the time I create my ideal cities by superimposing others, for example St. Petersburg was created in the image of Rome and Paris,” the photographer added.

To cope with the Lombardy Region’s provisions for the Coronavirus emergency and to avoid overcrowding during the opening, the EOS Factory has decided to bring forward Bramante’s solo exhibition to March 3, displaying one of the artist’s works in the window each day in order to “allow passersby and fans to still be able to view the works.” The gallery will then remain open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and said it is “a decision made to protect art, which continues on its way as do we all. We have to continue in the normalcy of life while respecting the rules we have been given to protect our health.”
