In Paris, at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the first major exhibition in a museum in France dedicated to the Little Prince. On display is the original manuscript.

The first major exhibition in a museum in France dedicated to one of the greatest masterpieces of world literature, The Little Prince, opened yesterday, February 17: until June 26, 2022, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris is hosting À la rencontre du petit prince, curated by Anne Monier Vanryb and Alban Cerisier.

More than six hundred pieces on display aim to celebrate the multifaceted nature of the author of the famous literary work, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry: writer, poet, aviator, explorer, journalist, inventor, philosopher, animated throughout his life by a humanist ideal.

On the occasion of this major exhibition, the public can admire the original manuscript of the book, which comes from the Morgan Library & Museum in New York and has never before been presented in France; this is displayed along with watercolors, sketches and drawings, also unpublished, as well as photographs, poems, newspaper clippings and excerpts from correspondence. The exhibition aims to reveal the sometimes little-known aspects of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and provide keys to understanding this universal and enigmatic tale.

Published in 1943 in the United States, the French edition dates back to 1946. The Little Prince is probably the most translated book after the Bible and has more than five hundred translations into different languages.

The exhibition was organized in collaboration with the Antoine de Saint Exupéry Foundation with the support of the International Committee and the Friends of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Éditions Gallimard, Eden Livres, and the Jan Michalski Foundation. With the exceptional support, through its loans, of the Morgan Library & Museum.
