Plays of light in the photographs of Gabriel Orlowski. In Naples his first Italian solo exhibition

Shazar Gallery in Naples welcomes the first Italian solo exhibition of Polish artist Gabriel Orlowski from Feb. 8 to March 31, 2020.

Shazar Gallery in Naples presents the first solo exhibition in Italy by Polish artist Gabriel Orlowski from Feb. 8 to March 31, 2020.

The exhibition, titled Technicolor, showcases a photographic project, specially created for the gallery, focused on the ability of light to transform the physicality of the subjects portrayed and to modify their essence, making it almost ethereal.

Nine photographs that open onto isolated, silent and balanced worlds in which new perspectives of lines and golden dusts are defined.

The light creates a kind of game of hunting for potential discoveries: “I let a little light filter in, let the room be flooded with a subtle aura of psychedelia, and wait for it to creep in near the threshold, cast its shadow on the walls or slip over an expanse of water, avoiding any direct contact... only then am I aware that it, the light is right there,” says the artist.

Orlowski’s images are sharp, precise compositions in which, however, the movements of light give life to warm, bright and decorative elements, making them become peculiarities of his artistic production.

Gabriel Orlowski was named one of the Young Lynx by Contemporary Lynx magazine, the list of leading young Polish artists. An author and contributor to various art magazines and books, he is interested in digital languages and music and has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions throughout Europe.
