Réclame, advertising works from private collection on display at the Other Size Gallery in Milan, Italy

Milan's Other Size Gallery exhibits about thirty advertising works from private collections by artists and designers from the early twentieth century.

Other Size Gallery by Workness in Milan presents from September 19 to October 26, 2019 the exhibition Réclame! A passion, a collection: about thirty advertising works, including original lithographs, sketches and vintage photographs, created between the early 20th century and the 1960s by a number of authors such as Fortunato Depero, Leonetto Cappiello, Marcello Nizzoli and Franz Marangolo. Italian companies used to entrust their advertising communication to artists and designers from the early twentieth century.
The works on display come from Federico Guidoni’s extensive private collection.

On display are eight large-format, brightly colored posters made between the 1910s and 1950s by Achille Beltrame, Leonetto Cappiello, Fortunato Depero, Nico Edel, Louis Koller, Giuseppe Magagnoli, Nino Nanni, Marcello Nizzoli and Enrico Sacchetti, as well as twelve sketches made using mixed techniques, such as India ink, watercolor and collage, by Franz Marangolo dating from the 1950s to the 1960s.
Also present are ten black-and-white photographs depicting some glimpses of Milan with the first illuminated signs, which have become iconic.

Through the works on display, the exhibition aims to tell the story of the evolution of Italian art and design.
