Auctions of the week: paintings, automobiles, design and photography


Between Jan. 22 and Jan. 28, 2026, Italian and international cities will host a busy calendar of auctions devoted to design, modern and contemporary art, and collectibles, with market highlights.

The week of January 22-28, 2026, confirms itself as a crucial time for the art and collectibles market. Opening the dances on the national territory is Cambi Auction House. The Genoese house just concludes its general sale of Antiques on Thursday, January 22, and opens a sale of Jewelry in Milan on Friday, January 23 (active until February 4). In Milan, the activity of Il Ponte Casa d’Aste continues. After opening on Jan. 21, the historic venue on Via Vascello continues bargaining on Thursday, Jan. 22, with the third and fourth rounds of the auction of Furniture, Paintings, Objects, Modern Books, Oriental Art, Carpets and Textiles. On the online precious collectibles front, Colasanti Auction House, on the other hand, is offering a Web-only sale of Jewelry and Watches from Jan. 21 through Jan. 30.

In Rome, on Thursday, January 22, Bertolami Fine Art presents Live Auction 366 at Palazzo Caetani Lovatelli: a cultured selection of Oriental Art from the collections of a gentleman of Buddhist culture and other European collectors from prestigious collections.

Also on Thursday 22 and Friday 23, Capitolium Art beats the virtual auction dedicated to 20th-century Design and Decorative Arts. For lovers of graphic art and masters from the 18th to the 21st century, the Pananti Casa d’Aste Gallery has two important timed auctions underway: Authors from the 18th to the 21st century (until Jan. 28) and the other focusing on Graphics and Editions (until Jan. 29). At the same time, Bonhams is offering no less than three appointments: in Denmark beats the Wine selection, ideal for collectors of great vintages; online, from Skinner’s U.S. office, the Prints & Photographs Online auction closes; and in Paris, the dedicated Fashion & Handbags Online Sale continues. On Jan. 23, RM Sotheby’s turns the spotlight on Arizona for one of the most anticipated automotive events. Dorotheum offers an online date on Friday, Jan. 23, with theVienna Academy of Fine Arts Charity Auction.

Friday, Jan. 23, event density peaks. In Paris,Hôtel Drouot hosts the Classic Sales auction curated by Drouot Estimations. Meanwhile, Bonhams launches three catalogs of great interest: in Paris, the focus is on A Private Collection of Aboriginal Art, while in Sweden, the China for the West auction, devoted to export porcelain, is being trumpeted. In the United States, the spotlight is on the famous The Scottsdale Au ction in Arizona, a cult classic car event. On the same day, Sotheby’s closes its Contemporary Discoveries online sale in London and in New York presents the major catalog of Important Americana including Early American Silver from the Roy J. Zuckerberg Collection.

The weekend features Sotheby’s in New York, which is offering three thematic auctions on Saturday, January 24: Art of the Americas, The American West, and The Great American Whiskey Collection spirits sale. On Sunday, Jan. 25, while Sotheby’s beats modern art in Singapore, Bonhams caters to stamp collectors in Denmark with its Stamps auction and offers Curated Timepieces - January for watch lovers in Sweden. In Finland, the sale dedicated to Finnish art glass Gunnel Nyman - Eternal Beauty in Glass also concludes.

On Monday, January 26, the week draws to a close with Bonhams in Denmark presenting an eclectic catalog of Paintings, furniture and varia, while in Paris the auction dedicated to Russian avant-garde Non-Conformist Art from the Soviet Union closes. Piasa, meanwhile, is active through Jan. 26 with the online auction Mode de vie Parisien #11.

On Tuesday, January 27, in Paris, Artcurial devotes an auction to Automobile Legends. In New York, Christie’s is still active with a series of online auctions. From Dec. 19 to Jan. 27, they are still featuring: COLLECTOR/CONNOISEUR: The Max N. Berry Collections American Art Online Sale and COLLECTOR/CONNOISSEUR: The Max N. Finally, Tuesday, Jan. 27, marks another field day. Sotheby ’s in Paris disperses the collection From Doris with Love: The Personal World of Doris Brynner - Part I, while in New York it focuses on documents with Fine Manuscript and Printed Americana. Bonhams responds with a series of prestigious appointments: in London the Jewels Online auction closes, in the United States history is celebrated with Americana - Crafting a Nation, and in Denmark great design returns with the Modern art and design auction. Also in Denmark, the weekly jewelry sale Jewellery and Fashion closes on January 28.
