MAN of Nuoro launches contest to share reflection on current events

The MAN of Nuoro launches a virtual project aimed at everyone: Quarantine Diary in the contest format.

TheMAN museum in Nuoro joins the #iorestoacasa campaign and from Monday, March 30, to Monday, May 11, 2020, offers an unprecedented virtual project: Quarantine Diary. A contest that aims to involve everyone, children, students and adults, proposing them to elaborate a personal vision of the current moment by sharing it on Facebook and Instagram channels.

The format consists of two contests, each aimed at a different audience: #ladidatticacontinue, for children and youth, and #artecheresist, aimed at adults. The public is invited to produce an entry that, through writing, drawing, photography, or music, recounts an experience, feeling, activity, or desire that reflects their feelings about this present moment.

Participants should send their entries to mancontest2@gmail.com specifying which contest they intend to enter, and share the content on Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag of the chosen contest.

The contests will take place in stages: every two weeks, on Monday, April 13, Monday, April 27, and Monday, May 11, 2020, a winner for each category will be nominated through MAN’s social channels; each of them will be rewarded with two free admissions to the Museum and a publication of their choice from those available at MAN’s bookshop.

“Faced with the historical situation we are experiencing,” says director Luigi Fassi, “the MAN Museum is adapting its activities to digital fruition, launching new virtual projects designed to rediscover the value of sharing and belonging to a community, to make culture even from afar.”

In addition to the contest, MAN will offer on its Instagram and Facebook channels a virtual excursus through the works of the permanent collection, exhibition projects and recent publications.
It will then launch a calendar of virtual workshops dedicated to children and young people: every Thursday, at 4 p.m., on the Instagram and Facebook social channels, it will be possible to participate in creative activities led by Sandrine Lescaroux and Lina Schintu, who are in charge of education, to explore and experiment with imagery, new forms and new artistic techniques.
