Only on May 27, 28 and 29, 2019, the event film Dentro Caravaggio, with the extraordinary participation of Sandro Lombardi, will arrive in Italian cinemas.

Coming to cinemas on May 27, 28 and 29, 2019, is the event film Dentro Caravaggio, directed by Francesco Fei, scripted by Jacopo Ghilardotti and produced by Piero Maranghi and Massimo Vitta Zelman with Marco Colombo and Francesco Melzi d’Eril; it is a production of Italia Classica, Skira Editore, Adler Entertainment, with the support of Intesa Sanpaolo.

The docu-film will take viewers through an original and accurate reading of the works of Michelangelo Merisi (Milan, 1571 - Porto Ercole, 1610). The journey through Caravaggio’s places and works will be led by Sandro Lombardi, one of the most charismatic and multifaceted artists on the Italian theater scene. Rome, Naples, Malta, Sicily and the Sacro Monte of Varallo frescoed by Gaudenzio Ferrari will follow.

The artist’s works will be accompanied by talks by authoritative experts and artists, including Rossella Vodret, Marco Carminati, Alessandro Morandotti, Milo Manara, Gennaro Carillo, Giovanna Cassese, Caterina Di Giacomo, Achille Mauri and the video artist duo Masbedo.
Completing the itinerary will be the Milanese exhibition L’ultimo Caravaggio. Heirs and New Masters, staged at the Gallerie d’Italia in Piazza Scala from November 30, 2017 to April 8, 2018.

The docu-film is part of La Grande Arte al Cinema and is distributed in Italy by Nexo Digital with media partners Radio Capital, Sky Arte and MYmovies.it.
