J.Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles acquires two bronze sculptures by Rodin and Claudel

The J.Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles is enriched with two new bronze statues by Auguste Rodin and Camille Claudel.

Two bronze sculptures made by Auguste Rodin and Camille Claudel have been acquired by the J.Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles: they are the former’s Bust of John the Baptist and the latter’s Torso of a Crouching Woman.

Visitors will be able to view both sculptures starting this summer.

Timothy Potts, director of the Los Angeles museum, is pleased with the new acquisitions and said that each of these bronzes is of extraordinary quality; the acquisition of a significant work by Camille Claudel is gratifying to him at a time when the artist is receiving the proper recognition she deserves.
