On the occasion of the closing international conference of the Tintoretto year, scheduled for September 30 at the Scuola Grande di San Rocco and October 1 and 2 at the Istituto Veneto, in the Palazzo Franchetti venue, leading international Tintoretto scholars will be in Venice from September 30 to October 2 to visit the exhibition of Spanish artist Jorge R. Pombo(Barcelona, 1973) Tintoretto - Pombo, Maternity and Passion, held at the Scuola Grande di San Rocco. The exhibition, given its great success with the public, has been extended until October 5, 2019.

The conference, the most important in the world for the celebrations of the five-hundredth anniversary of Tintoretto’s birth, will feature leading experts on the Renaissance painter from the United States, Germany, Italy and other countries, who will meet in a three-day public discussion.

Jorge R. Pombo, after Passion and Justice, which concluded last January, has created a second cycle of variations, in dialogue with Tintoretto’s paintings, entitled Tintoretto - Pombo, Maternity and Passion.

The artist revisited seven masterpieces by the Venetian Renaissance master that narrate episodes in the life of the Virgin: Annunciation, Flight into Egypt, Massacre of the Innocents, Mary in Meditation, Mary of Egypt, Crucifixion, Assumption.

The exhibition is curated by Sandro Orlandi Stagl with Frederick Ilchman and is produced by ARTantide.com Gallery in collaboration with Scuola Grande di San Rocco and the Movimento Arte Etica.
