Stefano Collicelli Cagol is the new director of the Pecci Center in Prato


New director of Prato's Pecci Center appointed: he is Stefano Collicelli Cagol. He will lead the museum for the next three years.

The BoD of theFoundation for Contemporary Arts in Tuscany, chaired by Lorenzo Bini Smaghi, has appointed the new director of the Luigi Pecci Center for Contemporary Art in Prato: he is Stefano Collicelli Cagol. The examining board composed of Bruno Corà, Sarah Cosulich, Guido Guerzoni and Lorenzo Sassoli de Bianchi chose him from a shortlist of selected candidates.

Stefano Collicelli Cagol will take office on January 10, 2022, and will lead the museum for the next three years.

Collicelli Cagol (PhD) is curator of BY ART MATTERS, Hangzhou, China, an exhibition center dedicated to contemporary arts. From 2018 to 2020 he was Curator of Fondazione La Quadriennale di Roma and co-curated the Quadriennale d’arte 2020 FUORI exhibition, Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Rome. He taught ’Exhibition and Display’ at the Master of Level II Design for Arts at the Polytechnic University of Turin. From 2015 to 2017 he was Curator at Large at Trondheim kunstmuseum, Norway. In 2014 he received his PhD from the Department of Curating Contemporary Art at the Royal College of Art, London. He has curated exhibitions and projects in institutions such as Palazzo Grassi, Venice; LUX Artists’ Moving Image, London; steirischer herbst festival, Graz; Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin; Fondazione Querini Stampalia, Venice.
