Artonauts, the sticker album celebrating art from around the world, returns today

Starting today, the third Artonauts album is available at newsstands and on the website. Enjoy collecting the cards that celebrate art from around the world.

As of today, May 4, the new Artonauti album is available at newsstands throughout Italy and on the dedicated website: in fact, the sticker album aimed at children and young people from 7 to 14 years old, as well as adults and families, which makes people travel through art, is back. This time, for the third collection, they will even travel around the world: hence the title of the new album Tutto Mondo. After the success of the first two collections, the first one from the Lascaux caves to the twentieth century and the second one all about the early twentieth century, now comes the third collection that will take people on a journey to discover the art and architecture of all continents: starting from Russia and crossing Asia to Japan, exploring Australia and Africa, to Latin America and finally arriving in Europe. All World expresses collectivity and unity, and is a tribute to thework of the same name that Keith Haring created in Pisa and dedicated to all humanity.

In addition to discovering artistic masterpieces from around the world, through the stickers to be collected to complete the album, art as a universal language capable of building bridges will be celebrated, and the traditions, myths and legends of great civilizations will be known. Artonauts is a synthesis of the words “art,” “astronauts” (to identify an adventurous journey) and “Argonauts” (to evoke epic characters and their fantastic journeys): the playful and educational aspects combine; in fact, the project is based on three fundamental principles: art within everyone’s reach, play as a valuable educational tool for children, and art and creativity as fundamental elements for children’s evolutionary development.

The story of the Whole World album begins with a lesson in DAD that the children featured in the story, Ale and Morgana, are taking. Suddenly, the friendly cat Wizart (named in homage to the publishing house that created Artonauts) disappears and the children set off in search of him in the company of their grandmother Artemisia and the inseparable Argo, the dog who is the protagonist of the story and narrator of the events. Together they will all travel the world. They will discover the most distant cultures and the most famous monuments scattered around the globe, such as the Taj Mahal in India, archaeological excavations in Syria, but also Australian Aboriginal art, great murals in Brazil, refined Persian architecture, colorful Central American jungle paintings and contemporary artists in Africa. Finally they will return to Europe and in particular before Botticelli’s Birth of Venus, an emblem of the Renaissance and the art history of Italy and the world. Finally finding the cat Wizart, the characters will learn the secret message of the album by deciphering an ancient Sumerian language.

Among the artists in this third collection are Antonio Canova, Rubens, Titian, Raphael, Natalia Goncharova, Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Keith Haring, Jackson Pollock, and many more.

The album consists of 116 pages, 15 illustration plates, 99 artworks and monuments to reconstruct thanks to the 288 figurines. Then there are 23 riddles and many insights into world cultures, from the legend of Mount Fuji to the myth of Bacchus and Ariadne and stories of medieval knights.

There is also the game within the game: pairs of collectible Twin Cards to give children memory training by recognizing works of art from details. Plus lots of extra content accessed via Qr code, including tutorials for activities to do at home such as making your own mandala, dreamcatcher, matryoshka, daruma die or Chinese lantern.
