Art and sustainability in Biella: Cracking Art's wolves of light keep watch at well-known textile company

Tollegno 1900 and Cracking Art enter into a collaboration under the banner of art and sustainability.

Sharing a strong social and environmental commitment, common origins, a passion for art to be brought to places where their business is developed, such as industrial archaeology spaces, and the same materials such as plastic, Tollegno 1900 and Cracking Art have forged a bond in the name ofart and sustainability.

Since March 1, twenty-six yellow Cracking Art wolves have found space in the Light Room of the Biella textile company, from which they are visible to all because they are illuminated and placed to guard the windows.

“The choice to focus on one of the most emblematic species of Italy’s natural and cultural heritage, so much so that it is protected by the WWF, was not accidental because, in addition to being a faithful expression of the principles that inspire our movement, it represents an ironic reconciliation between wolves and sheep, animals evocative of the world of Tollegno 1900,” declare from Cracking Art.

The temporary exhibition Wolves of Light constitutes only the first in a series of further initiatives that will see the two entities side by side always following the concept of sustainability. "We at Tollegno 1900," says Lincoln Germanetti, Ad of Tollegno 1900, “have always worked to maintain a constant balance between production efficiency and respect for the environment, creating the basis for a circular economy that makes sustainability, intelligent recovery and conscious reuse its strong points. This is why we are constantly investing in plant and machinery to keep the impact on our habitat under control and developing projects with partners who share our same philosophy of caring for the ecosystem, making rigorous and scrupulous choices.”

The collaboration will continue in the following months with the exhibition, also in Tollegno 1900, of a brand-new work created by Cracking Art. The installation, composed of four hundred elements, will be an expression of a new inspirational current that intends to open up further expressive paths.

“We are proud to be able to be the setting for these works, whose value is known far beyond Italian borders so much so that they are witnesses of an unprecedented style and creative craftsmanship,” Germanetti concludes. “The decision to present a new installation right in our company can be understood, by extension, as a declaration of love for Biella, which is becoming a significant art hub. Being ambassadors of the territory has always been our priority, which we now share with a group of highly innovative artists who are sensitive to values that we share in toto.”
