On Friday, June 4, 2021, starting at 9:15 p.m., Rai5 will air a new episode of Art Night, a program by Silvia De Felice and Massimo Favia and Marta Santella, directed by Andrea Montemaggiori.

It will start with Art Rider in search of the Orient in Italy in the company of the young archaeologist Andrea Angelucci: so we will go among traces of millenary influences, Greek icons and Byzantine mosaics. We will set out on the route of theancient Via Appia, retracing the steps of crusaders, pilgrims and saints, on a journey that will lead from Rome to Melfi, in Puglia, the gateway to the Levant. Here it will be possible to breathe the winds of the East, bowing before Frederick II, the man who sought in his reign to unite East and West.

Art Night will continue with a documentary dedicated to the life and works of Umberto Mastroianni (Fontana Liri, 1910 - Marino, 1998), the artist who renewed sculpture in the second half of the 20th century. A journey through Mastroianni’s art to the notes of Schoenberg.
