Buongiorno Ceramica, the two-day event dedicated to the art of ceramics returns to 40 Italian cities

On May 19 and 20, in Italy's 40 ceramic cities, Buongiorno Ceramica! a two-day event dedicated to this ancient art is back.

On May 19 and 20, 2018, the appointment with Buongiorno Ceramica! is renewed, the event dedicated to theart of ceramics, held in forty cities throughout Italy, the cities where the tradition of this centuries-old art is rooted: Albisola Superiore, Albissola Marina, Ariano Irpino, Ascoli Piceno, Assemini, Bassano del Grappa, Borgo San Lorenzo, Burgio, Caltagirone, Castellamonte, Castelli, Cava dei Tirreni, Cerreto Sannita, Civita Castellana, Cutrofiano, Deruta, Este, Faenza, Grottaglie, Gualdo Tadino, Gubbio, Impruneta, Laterza, Laveno Mombello, Lodi, Mondovì, Montelupo Fiorentino, Naples-Capodimonte, Nove, Oristano, Orvieto, San Lorenzello, Santo Stefano di Camastra, Sciacca, Sesto Fiorentino, Squillace, Urbania, Vietri sul Mare, and Viterbo.

The event, which this year reaches its fourth edition, combines as always history and innovation, the tradition of the masters and artists of the past with the works of contemporary designers, for an event capable of addressing a wide audience, young and passionate, also because many are the proposals that in each city are dedicated to visitors, including exhibitions, concerts, performances, art workshops, readings, aperitifs, tastings and much more. There are dozens of initiatives scheduled, all of which can be consulted on the website www.buongiornoceramica.it, and which are held in all forty cities involved, but which also see the participation of international delegations. An opportunity to discover or rediscover ceramics, to learn about its techniques, and to get in touch with ateliers and masters, then: a must-attend event for fans of this ancient art form.

“With Buongiorno Ceramica!” comments Massimo Isola, president of AiCC - Italian Association of Ceramic Cities, “we want to promote the culture of artistic and artisanal ceramics, to bring it back to the center of Italian standards and customs. During these two days, the public and citizens have the opportunity to discover up close the value of workshops, laboratories, ateliers, but also museums and other places where ceramic is made and thought about on a daily basis. The dialogue and confrontation with the public is also a stimulus for the ceramists and artists themselves, who passionately carry forward the value of handmade and tradition, while opening spaces to the necessary contamination with the languages of contemporary art and design and closely watching the evolution of style and taste. The great success of previous editions confirms that we are on the right track: Buongiorno Ceramica! is in fact the main event of AiCC, Italian Association of Ceramic Cities, which throughout the year carries on a permanent mobilization on the theme of CERAMICS, always keeping alive the attention and passion on this element that represents the cultural identity for so many Italian territories.”

All Buongiorno Ceramica! events are free admission and take place from 10 a.m. to midnight in all 40 cities. Info, in addition to the website linked above, can be found on the Facebook page and live streams can be followed on the Twitter account @ItaliaCeramica or on the event’sInstagram account.
