The award for best animated film went to Spider-Man - A New Universe, while Brian Hayes, Peter Farrelly and Nick Vallelonga get best screenplay for Green Book. Finally, best original score is for Justin Hurwitz(First Man) and best original song is Lady Gaga’s Shallow for the film A star is born.

Also noteworthy are the illustrious losers: no awards for Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman, nominated in three categories, and empty hands also for The Return of Mary Poppins, which had garnered nominations for best comedy and best male and best female leads. It leaves Disney high and dry among animated films: the well-known house was nominated with The Incredibles 2 and with Ralph Breaks the Internet. In the same category, of note is the defeat of Wes Anderson and his The Isle of Dogs.
