An exhibition to tell the story of the birth and development of the Ingegnoli collection in Milan


The Bottegantica Gallery in Milan is dedicating an exhibition to the Ingegnoli collection to acquaint the public with the birth and development of the Milanese collection.

Through Dec. 3, 2017, the exhibition"The Ingegnoli Collection. History of an art passion in Milan."

Paolo Ingegnoli (1861-1935) was a Milanese entrepreneur who, a lover of art and beauty, collected various paintings between the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The exhibition aims to acquaint the public, through a selection of fifteen paintings, now preserved in public and private collections, with how the famous Milanese collection was born and developed.

On display will be Giovanni Boldini’s"The Port of Venice," Angelo Morbelli’s "The EmptyChair," Carlo Fornara’s "Work in the Fields," Telemaco Signorini’s "The Ghetto of Florence," and Giovanni Fattori’s"Harvesting the Leaves."
Also exhibited were works by Giacomo Favretto, Domenico and Gerolamo Induno, Vincenzo Irolli and many other artists.
Ingegnoli wished to possess a summa of19th-century Italian art.

The exhibition is curated by Enzo Savoia, Stefano Bosi and Valerio Rossi in collaboration with the Ingegnoli heirs and is part of the initiatives to celebrate the foundation’s 200th anniversary.

Hours: Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
