The MANN National Archaeological Museum in Naples is hosting until Feb. 1, 2026 an exhibition that reconstructs the human and artistic encounter between three protagonists of Italian postwar Abstractionism: Tancredi Parmeggiani, Gino Morandis and Riccardo Licata.

From December 19, 2025 to February 1, 2026, the MANN National Archaeological Museum in Naples is hosting the exhibition Riccardo Licata, Gino Morandis, Tancredi Parmeggiani. Stories of Art and Friendship, curated by Giordano Bruno Guerri and Giovanni Granzotto, with contributions from Stefano Cecchetto and Dino Marangon, and organized by Lorenzo Zichichi’s Il Cigno Arte in collaboration with Studio GR.

The exhibition brings together forty-two works and reconstructs the human and artistic encounter between three protagonists ofItalian postwar Abstractionism, Tancredi Parmeggiani, Gino Morandis and Riccardo Licata, linked by poetic affinities, common frequentations and personal relationships. The three artists shared the experimental impetus of Spatialism, which had developed around Lucio Fontana, interpreting his principles through their own artistic languages.

The exhibition aims to place space as a field of research and light and color as expressive tools at the center, and intends to reconstruct a web of relationships and visions that winds between Venice and Paris, between ateliers, Biennales and places of international comparison. The exhibition itinerary also includes important episodes, such as the rare portrait of Riccardo Licata made by Tancredi, direct evidence of a relationship of friendship and artistic dialogue.

The catalog is published by Il Cigno Arte.
