Brazil's conflicts presented in a contemporary art exhibition at Milan's PAC


On display at the PAC in Milan from July 4 to September 9, 2018 is the exhibition "Brazil. The Knife in the Flesh."

From July 4 to September 9, 2018 at the PAC in Milan you can visit the exhibition"Brazil. The Knife in the Flesh" curated by Jacopo Crivelli Visconti and Diego Sileo.

The exhibition will feature the works of thirty Brazilian artists of different generations, active since the 1970s.



The title of the exhibition takes its name from aplay by Brazilian writer Plinio Marcos: many of the artists in the exhibition refer to a conflict, which is social and symbolic.
Thus, there will be an opportunity to reflect on the clashes, violence, political, social, racial, ecological and cultural abuses in Brazil.

Here are the names of the artists involved: Maria Thereza Alves, Sofia Borges, Paloma Bosquê, Jonathas de Andrade, Iole de Freitas, Daniel de Paula, Deyson Gilbert, Fernanda Gomes, Ivan Grilo, Carmela Gross, Tamar Guimarães, Maurício Ianês, Clara Ianni, Francesco João, André Komatsu, Runo Lagomarsino, Leonilson, Ícaro Lira, Cinthia Marcelle, Ana Mazzei, Letícia Parente, Regina Parra, Vijai Patchineelam, Berna Reale, Celso Renato, Mauro Restiffe, Luiz Roque, Daniel Steegmann Mangrané, Tunga, Carlos Zilio.

The exhibition is promoted by the City of Milan - Culture and produced by the PAC with Silvana Editoriale, under the patronage of the Consulate General of Brazil in Milan; it is realized with the support of TOD’S, sponsor of the PAC’s exhibition activities, with the contribution of Alcantara and Cairo Editore, and with the support of Vulcano.

Hours: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Closed Mondays.

Tickets: Full 8 euros, reduced 6.50 euros. Free for children under 6 years old.
