Forty shots tell the story of Pink Floyd in Bologna

Ono contemporary art features 40 shots by photographers depicting Pink Floyd, one of the most beloved bands in music history.

Opening on September 26, 2019, at ONO arte contemporanea in Bologna, is the exhibition Pink Floyd: the Dark Side, which can be visited until November 30, 2019.

The exhibition features forty shots taken by Storm Thorgerson, Jill Furmanovsky, Baron Wolman, and Colin Prime that aim to trace the career of one of the most beloved bands in music history, Pink Floyd who were officially born in 1965.

Storm Thorgerson, a photographer and graphic designer who co-founded Studio Hypgnosis in 1968 and created the group’s most iconic and memorable covers, has been able to capture the essence of their music by bringing to life images inseparable from Pink Floyd’s output. The exhibition brings together a selection of these images, testifying to the collaboration that has become, since the late 1960s, symbiotic.

Furmanovsky and Prime ’s photos, on the other hand, show the group at the height of their activity, while Baron Wolman ’s immortalize Pink Floyd, with Syd Barrett still there, in San Francisco during the first U.S. tour in 1967.
