Gabriele Basilico and his shots dedicated to the city and the territory on display in Aosta

The Regional Archaeological Museum in Aosta will host an exhibition dedicated to Gabriele Basilico and his shots from April 28 to September 23, 2018.

Two hundred photographs, including a wide selection of shots dedicated to the Aosta Valley, taken by the great photographer Gabriele Basilico (Milan, 1944-2013) will make up the photographic exhibition"Gabriele Basilico. The City and the Territory," which will be set up at the Regional Archaeological Museum of Aosta from April 28 to September 23, 2018.

The exhibition itinerary divided by research nuclei starts from Milan Portraits of Factories, a project carried out between 1978 and 1980 from which the investigation of the world’s cities began.
This is followed by unpublished color images of reconstructed Beirut (2011) and some of the world’s metropolises such as Shanghai, Rio de Janeiro, Istanbul, and Moscow.
A large part of the shots on display comes from the collaboration with Stefano Boeri for the 1998 Venice Architecture Biennale: Sections of the Italian Landscape.

Also present is a survey done in collaboration with architect Luigi Snozzi in Monte Carasso (1996), on the outskirts of Bellinzona, showing the transformation of the town thanks to Snozzi’s interventions. And also landscape images made on various occasions, including those for the assignment of the Mission Photographique de la DATAR in France (1984-85).

Some videos dedicated to Basilico will also be shown.

Hours: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Tickets: Full 6 euros, reduced 4 euros.
