The IVAM in Valencia is hosting the opening of a dual solo exhibition by Irene Grau and Marco Giordano, organized by the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation in Madrid. The project strengthens the international collaboration between the two institutions and will travel to Guarene in 2027.

The Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation brings Italian art on tour abroad. The Institut Valencià d’Art Modern (IVAM), in collaboration with the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation Madrid, is opening *Ti chiamo corpo* in Valencia, a dual solo exhibition dedicated to the artists Irene Grau (Valencia, 1986) and Marco Giordano ( Turin, 1988). The project, curated by Alicia Ventura and Bernardo Follini, brings together a total of 52 works spanning painting, photography, sculpture, and installation, fostering a dialogue between two artistic trajectories united by an interest in the relationship between human beings, nature, matter, and the transformations of the contemporary landscape.

The initiative marks a new chapter in the collaboration between the Valencian museum and the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation, and reaffirms the latter’s role in promoting Italian contemporary art internationally and in building relationships with some of Europe’s leading museums. The exhibition is part of IVAM’s “Territori in transito / Solo duo” program, an exhibition series designed to foster dialogue between artists and institutions from different countries through collaborative projects that bring together diverse cultural and linguistic experiences.

*Ti chiamo corpo* presents an exhibition itinerary built around existing works and new pieces created specifically for the spaces of the Institut Valencià d’Art Modern. The exhibition design was conceived to highlight the dialogue between the artistic practices of Irene Grau, born in Valencia in 1986, and Marco Giordano, born in Turin in 1988, emphasizing similarities and differences through distinct artistic languages.

Throughout the exhibition, painting, photography, sculpture, and installation engage in a dialogue to address themes that cut across much of contemporary artistic practice. The exhibition explores the relationships between human beings and the environment, the interplay between nature and man-made infrastructure, and the transformations affecting landscape and matter in the contemporary context. The 52 works on view thus construct a shared narrative in which the two artists’ artistic visions intertwine without losing their individual autonomy, giving rise to a multifaceted reflection on the ways in which the body, space, and the environment influence one another.

The project also holds particular significance from the perspective of institutional collaboration. For the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation, participation in the IVAM program represents yet another opportunity to support the international dissemination of Italian contemporary art and to strengthen a network of relationships with leading museums.

The Foundation, which for years has promoted emerging and established artists through exhibitions, residencies, educational programs, and international collaborations, considers building partnerships with European institutions one of the primary tools for fostering the circulation of ideas and promoting Italian artistic research beyond national borders. The exhibition in Valencia is part of this strategy, presenting a collaborative project that connects different cultural contexts and offers new opportunities for visibility to the participating artists.

Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, president of the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation, underscored the value of the initiative, highlighting the significance of the collaboration with the Valencian institution: “For the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation, it is very important to create synergies with other artistic centers such as IVAM. ‘Ti chiamo corpo’ allows us to highlight the talent and affinities between artists such as Irene Grau and Marco Giordano and, at the same time, reinforces our firm commitment to building cultural bridges on an international level.”

Following its presentation at the IVAM in Valencia, *Ti chiamo corpo* will continue its exhibition tour to Italy. Starting in January 2027, the exhibition will be hosted at the Foundation’s historic headquarters, Palazzo Re Rebaudengo in Guarene, in the province of Cuneo.
