Invisibles: a photo exhibition on marginalization in Ferrara

The needy and the marginalized are the protagonists of the (in)visible photography exhibition at Casa Romei in Ferrara: shots by Balugani, Cravo and Meneghetti.

Starting today, Sunday, Sept. 24, and continuing until Sunday, Nov. 26, is the “(in)visible”video-photographic exhibition by Michele Balugani, Chrisitan Cravo and César Meneghetti.

This exhibition showcases the works of Balugani and other contemporary artists who have chosen social marginality as their theme. Specifically, Balugani (Ferrara, 1955) portrays homeless women and men, Meneghetti (São Paulo, Brazil, 1964) presents a video installation created with the Sant’Egidiocommunity , exploring the handicapped, while Cravo (São Paulo, Brazil, 1974) photographs modern Latin American society.

The exhibition is held at Casa Romei, in Ferrara, which began as an aristocratic residence and in the 19th century was used as a shelter for destitute people (it thus constituted a refuge for the most needy: the exhibition is therefore particularly in line with the history of the building that houses it), and today is a structure of the Polo Museale dell’Emilia Romagna.
