Massimo Vitali's human constellations on display in Turin

From Sept. 25 to Dec. 20, 2020, the Ettore Fico Museum in Turin will host the exhibition 'Human Constellations,' a solo show by photographer Massimo Vitali.

From September 25 to December 20, 2020, the MEF - Museo Ettore Fico in Turin hosts the exhibition Massimo Vitali. Human Constellations, a solo exhibition by Lombard photographer Massimo Vitali (Como, Italy, 1944) curated by Andrea Busto. The exhibition displays about thirty works selected from twenty-five years of the artist’s production, that is, since when his production left cinema, television and art photography and focused on artistic research.

The exhibition path is developed by themes: from sunny Italian beaches packed with people on vacation (1995) to shots, never exhibited before, of Jovanotti’s concerts on his latest Italian tour in 2019. On display will be several works that Vitali has successfully exhibited around the world: in fact, the photographer is internationally acclaimed and his work has been shown in venues the Reina Sofía in Madrid, the Museo Pecci in Prato, the Guggenheim in New York, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver, the Centre Pompidou and the Fondation Cartier in Paris.

Vitali’s exhibition was originally scheduled for last spring, then Covid had it postponed-now the new dates finally arrive. The exhibition is accompanied by two anthological volumes, published by Steidl, documenting the artist’s work with reproductions of all the works on display. Massimo Vitali. Human Constellations can be visited during the opening hours of the Ettore Fico Museum. For info, see the institute’s website.
