From Oct. 23, 2025, to March 1, 2026, the spaces of the Filatoio di Caraglio (Cuneo), an ancient 17th-century silk mill, one of the most important in Europe and now home to the Museo del Setificio Piemontese, will host the exhibition Helmut Newton. Interweaving, curated by Matthias Harder, director of the Helmut Newton Foundation in Berlin.
The exhibition brings together more than one hundred photographs, some of which have never before been presented to the public, from celebrated collaborations with international brands such as Yves Saint Laurent, Wolford, Ca’ del Bosco, Blumarine, Absolut Vodka and Lavazza.
The exhibition will open with a selection of the images that established Newton as one of the undisputed masters of fashion photography. His shots restore the unmistakable style of an author capable of mixing elegance and provocation. What also made him unique was the harmony built with iconic models such as Monica Bellucci, Nadja Auermann, Kate Moss, Carla Bruni and Eva Herzigová, as well as the trust won by designers, fashion houses and international magazines.
A distinctive feature of his career is the continuous dialogue between editorial and commercial photography. Indeed, Newton has signed campaigns for major maisons and world-class brands, exploring new registers of expression without ever renouncing his own style.
Conceived specifically for the Filatoio di Caraglio, the exhibition aims to offer the public an opportunity to admire these photographic series together, evidence of the evolution of an artist who has redefined the boundaries of contemporary photography.
The initiative is promoted by the Artea Foundation, in collaboration with the Municipality of Caraglio.
