At PAN - Palazzo delle Arti Napoli opened yesterday, March 1, the retrospective exhibition"Io Dalí," which will remain open to the public until June 10, 2018.
Through paintings, drawings, videos, photographs and magazines, the way in which the Catalan artist was able to create his character by turning his every gesture into a work of art is presented.
Dalí was a painter, draftsman, thinker, writer, lover of science, catalyst of avant-garde currents, illustrator, designer, filmmaker, set designer and used the most varied artistic techniques, including the most innovative, such as installations and performances.
On display are films, performances, frequent appearances in magazines and on television, as well as his stereoscopic masterpieces dating from the late 1960s and 1970s. Also: photographs, particularly those by Philippe Halsman.
Among the paintings on display are theSelf-Portrait with Raphaelesque Neck (1921) and various drawings for his autobiography Secret Life, published in 1942.
The exhibition is curated by Laura Bartolomé and Lucia Moni for the Fundació Gala Salvador Dalí and Francesca Villanti scientific director of C.O.R. Creare Organizzare Realize, with scientific advice from Montse Aguer and Rosa Maria Maurell.
