Quantum visions and electric dreams in two exhibitions at OGR Turin

From October 31, 2025 to May 10, 2026, OGR Turin will host two international exhibitions exploring the relationship between art and technology, from quantum computing to pre-Internet visual experiments.

Turin is preparing to host an exhibition season dedicated to the dialogue between art and technology with two new international exhibitions that will occupy the spaces of OGR, thecultural hub of the CRT Foundation. From October 31, 2025 to May 10, 2026, the public will be able to visit Laure Prouvost ’s WE FELT A STAR DYING and ELECTRIC DREAMS. Art & Technology Before the Internet, two projects that investigate the relationship between artistic research and scientific innovation.

WE FELT A STAR DYING, commissioned by LAS Art Foundation and co-commissioned by OGR, brings to Turin the work of French artist Laure Prouvost, first presented in February 2025 in the spaces of Kraftwerk in Berlin. The installation, curated by Carly Whitefield for LAS and Samuele Piazza for OGR, arrives in Binario 1 in a new configuration that dialogues with the historic architecture of the former railway workshop. The project stems from a collaboration with philosopher Tobias Rees and Hartmut Neven, founder of Google Quantum AI, and proposes a multisensory experience that integrates images, sounds and scents to explore the potential of quantum computing and emerging technologies. In parallel, in Track 2, lands ELECTRIC DREAMS. Art & Technology Before the Internet, organized by Tate Modern and OGR Torino and curated by Val Ravaglia and Samuele Piazza. The exhibition traces more than forty years of artistic experimentation located at the crossroads of visual art and technology, before the spread of the Internet on a global scale. The exhibition highlights how artists have adopted tools developed in military or industrial settings to redefine collective imaginaries, stimulate critical thinking and anticipate cultural transformations related to technological innovation.

Both exhibitions present complementary approaches to the relationship between creativity and technology, tracing an arc from the pioneering experiments of the second half of the 20th century to contemporary research on quantum computing and artificial intelligence. In this sense, the program confirms OGR’s role as a center of interdisciplinary production and experimentation, capable of bringing artists, scientists and international institutions into dialogue. The autumn season at OGR Turin aims to stimulate reflection on how advanced technologies transform the perception of the world and influence contemporary artistic language. WE FELT A STAR DYING offers an investigation into the possibilities of quantum computing, with a sensory approach that blends visual art, sound and scents, whileELECTRICDREAMS provides an understanding of the historical roots of technology applied to art, showing tools and practices developed before the digital age and global connectivity.

With WE FELT A STAR DYING and ELECTRIC DREAMS, the OGR Turin thus consolidates its mission as an interdisciplinary center, capable of analyzing technological changes and their cultural fallout. The exhibition invites reflection on the connections between contemporary art and technological innovation, highlighting how artistic creativity can dialogue with science and advanced research to explore new ways of representing and interpreting reality.
