The exhibition Treasures of the Pharaohs, hosted at the Scuderie del Quirinale in Rome, will remain open to the public until Sunday, June 14, 2026. The decision to extend the exhibition(here’s our review) comes after a startup that recorded particularly high numbers in terms of attendance and participation, exceeding initial forecasts. In the first ninety days of opening, 250,000 tickets were issued, with more than 200,000 actual admissions recorded. A considerable share of visitors came from outside Rome, confirming the exhibition’s ability to attract a national and international audience. The steady attendance made it necessary to extend the opening period, also to ensure access to the many organized groups, schools and adults interested in the cultural proposal.
Participation was not limited to simply visiting the exhibition spaces. The public showed a marked interest in in-depth studies, as evidenced by the more than 2,000 guided tours organized in the first three months, which were regularly sold out. At the same time, the exhibition has taken on a central role in the educational sphere, welcoming schools and families through 300 educational workshops designed to complement the enjoyment of the works with structured learning activities. Treasures of the Pharaohs is curated by Tarek El Awady, former director of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. The exhibition project is produced by ALES - Art Work and Services of the Ministry of Culture and MondoMostre, in collaboration with the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt. The initiative also has the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities of Egypt, with the patronage of the Lazio Region and the scientific collaboration of the Egyptian Museum of Turin.
“We are moved and proud in the face of these extraordinary results,” said Fabio Tagliaferri, President and CEO of Ales S.p.A. “Seeing such an uninterrupted flow of visitors confirms to us that the quality of the cultural offer has been perceived and rewarded. We could not ignore the thousands of requests from those who still want to experience this. The extension is our heartfelt thanks to the public.”
Intesa Sanpaolo and ENI are also contributing to the realization of the exhibition as Main Sponsors, joined by several partners, including Cotral, Urban Vision, Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane and EgyptAir, the official carrier. The project is part of international cooperation and cultural dialogue, linking Italian and Egyptian institutions in the enhancement of archaeological heritage. Tickets for the new dates are already available, and given the high demand, advance booking is recommended, particularly on weekends.
The Scuderie del Quirinale is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with last admission at 7 p.m.; on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, opening is earlier at 9 a.m. Reservations for schools and groups can be made through the dedicated email address or by contacting the call center, indicating day and time preferences.
