Twelve photographers and poets in Bari pay tribute to Luigi Ghirri 30 years after his death


The photo-literary exhibition Scatti di Poesia, now in its ninth edition, is running until Nov. 26, 2022, in the lobby of the University of Bari's Multipurpose Student Center. This year it is dedicated to Luigi Ghirri on the 30th anniversary of his death.

Until Nov. 26, 2022, the ninth edition of the photo-literary exhibition Scatti di Poesia (Shots of Poetry) will be on view in the hall of the University of Bari’s Multipurpose Student Center. Twelve Italian photographers pay tribute to the master of photography Luigi Ghirri, on the 30th anniversary of his death. In fact, this year the exhibition was dedicated to the great Reggio Emilia artist on the occasion of the important anniversary,

The exhibition, curated by Lino Angiuli, Giuseppe Pavone and Daniele Maria Pegorari and produced by the communications agency Quorum Italia, the Centro Ricerche per la Fotografia Contemporanea and the interdisciplinary magazine Incroci, will present all the visual and textual works and audiovisual interpretations of the poems, read by the authors themselves, accessible through QR Codes placed on the exhibition panels. The project is made possible thanks to the support of the Culture and Art Foundation of Rome, an instrumental body of the Fondazione Terzo Pilastro - Internazionale chaired by Emmanuele F. M. Emanuele, the sociocultural association “La Goccia” of Putignano and the Department of Humanistic Research and Innovation of the University of Bari “Aldo Moro.” They are joined by the sponsorships of the Ministry of Culture and the City of Bari, through the Department of Cultural and Tourism Policies.

The poets involved are Nadia Agustoni, Lino Angiuli, Alberto Bertoni, Vincenzo Guarracino, Paolo Fabrizio Iacuzzi, Franca Mancinelli, Maria Pia Quintavalla, Salvatore Ritrovato, Anna Santoliquido, Giancarlo Sissa, Giacomo Trinci and Pasquale Vitagliano. All from Puglia are the photographers in the exhibition paying homage to Ghirri: Nicola Amato, Berardo Celati, Angela Cioce, Stefano Di Marco, Giuseppe Di Palma, Beppe Gernone, Teresa Imbriani, Loredana Moretti, Michele Roberto, Giuseppe Pavone and Alberta Zallone, and Treviso-born Francesca Della Toffola.

A 2023 collector’s calendar collects all the textual and photographic materials of the exhibition and also the QR codes of the video readings.

Free admission Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
