Unpublished color shots of Vivian Maier are on display in Milan

The exhibition Vivian Maier. In Color comes to Forma Meravigli, Milan, from Oct. 24, 2019 to Jan. 19, 2020. The exhibition is curated by Alessandra Mauro, produced in collaboration with Howard Greenberg Gallery, New York. Forma Meravigli is an initiative of Fondazione Forma per la Fotografia in collaboration with the Milan Chamber of Commerce and Contrasto.

On display for the first time is a hitherto unpublished selection of color photographs by the now-famous"nanny photographer," many of them previously unpublished, that chronicle the American daily life between the 1950s and the mid-1970s. Irony, human warmth, the urban landscape, portraits, children: Maier has the gift of being the invisible lens on the streets of Chicago and New York, composing a narrative that has the character of a revelation.

Accompanying the exhibition is a book published by Contrasto.
