First Moscow Prize for Young Curators kicks off: here's how to submit applications


A competition for emerging young Italian curators: this is the Moscow Prize, promoted by MiBACT together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Moscow Prize, the first edition of a competition aimed at emerging Italian curators promoted by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism(MiBACT) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation(MAECI), has been put up for bid.

The prize up for grabs consists of a six-month period to be spent in Moscow, the capital of Russia, and more precisely from October 15, 2018 to April 15, 2019, in order to deepen one’s curatorial skills in contact with the cultural and artistic environment of the city, working alongside the institution’s staff in the organization of cultural activities being planned at the VAC Foundation.
Two 6-month fellowships (preferably one in architecture and one in visual arts) will be awarded, providing a monthly allowance for food and reimbursement of expenses benefits amounting to 1,800 euros monthly, a round-trip air ticket to Moscow fromItaly, and insurance coverage for health, accident, and accident expenses.

Requirements to participate are:
(a) be an Italian citizen;
(b) be born after December 31, 1985;
c) have a degree in architecture, art history, philosophy, sociology, cultural heritage conservation or related subjects;
(d) demonstrate by curriculum vitae that they have been engaged in curatorial work for at least three years;
(f) be proficient in English. Knowledge of Russian will be an asset.
