Notice of competition published for 1,052 enjoyment, reception and supervision assistants at the Ministry of Cultural Heritage.

A call for applications has been published in the Official Gazette for 1,052 positions of public assistance assistants who will be responsible for the initial reception of visitors (e.g., managing the ticket office and orienting the public) and for ensuring the surveillance of the exhibits in the place where they will serve. The 1,052 “fruition, reception and surveillance” assistants (so in the MiBAC announcement) will be hired on a permanent basis, Area II, economic position F2.

As far as territorial distribution is concerned, the 1,052 vigilants and reception assistants will work in all Italian regions except Trentino-Alto Adige and Valle d’Aosta: 30 in Abruzzo, 18 in Basilicata, 64 in Calabria, 200 in Campania, 51 in Emilia Romagna, 7 in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, 198 in Lazio, 48 in Liguria, 77 in Lombardy, 15 in Marche, 14 in Molise, 57 in Piedmont, 36 in Puglia, 14 in Sardinia, 2 in Sicily, 155 in Tuscany, 20 in Umbria, 46 in Veneto. Thirty percent of the places, the notice says, are reserved for short- and fixed-term volunteers of the armed forces who have been discharged without demerit, volunteers on permanent service, complementary officers on two-year form, and officers on fixed-term leave who have completed their service without demerit.

No college degree is required for admission: a high school diploma is sufficient. The procedure involves three tests: a pre-selection test with sixty multiple-choice questions (forty on logic and text comprehension, and twenty on cultural heritage law, cultural heritage, and workplace safety regulations), to be solved in sixty minutes; a selective written test reserved for those who have passed the pre-selection test (subjects: elements of cultural heritage law, general notions on cultural heritage, elements of the organization of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, elements of administrative law, regulations on safety in the workplace, discipline of the employment relationship in the public administration) and an oral test reserved for those who have passed the written test (it will be an interview aimed at ascertaining the candidates’ preparation and professional skills). At the end of the tests, a merit list will be published that will determine the 1,052 winners.

Applications must be submitted on the RIPAM website and the deadline is the 45th day after the publication of the notice in the Official Gazette. The fee to participate in the competition is 10 euros. For the full text of the notice, see the Official Gazette.
