LEGO and the New York MET together for Monet: Bridge over a pond of water lilies becomes wall set

LEGO and Impressionism meet in a collaboration with the Metropolitan Museum of Art: the construction set dedicated to Claude Monet's famous 1899 painting, Bridge over a Water Lily Pond, is born. 3,179 pieces to create a unique wall decoration.

Claude Monet (Paris, 1840 - Giverny, 1926) returns to inspiration, this time through LEGO bricks. Starting March 4, 2026, the new art set dedicated to the painting Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies will be available. The project was created in collaboration with the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, which holds the original 1899 work among more than 1.5 million pieces in its collection. The set will cost €199.99 in Italy, and $249.99 abroad.

The set features a colorful , three-dimensional reimagining of Monet’s garden at Giverny, where the artist spent much of his life caring for the plants and flowers featured in the painting. Using LEGO bricks creatively, the set reproduces the bridge, trees and water lilies featured in the work, transforming the famous painting into a wall decoration. Once completed, the structure can be hung thanks to a mechanism on the back, becoming a piece of furniture that adds a touch of nature and tranquility to home spaces.

With its 3,179 pieces, the set includes elements of various types, such as butterflies, cherries, bananas, swords and shields, used to reproduce details and textures of the painting in a creative key. Assembly can be supported by the LEGO Builder app, which allows users to follow 3D instructions, save progress, and virtually rotate the model during construction. Alongside the set, a QR Code in the instructions allows users to listen to a podcast featuring a curator from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, who delves into Monet’s work and the artist’s sources of inspiration. The end result measures 51 inches high, 41 inches wide, and 4 inches deep, offering a tangible version of the Impressionist masterpiece to display as an art decoration or to give as a creative experience for adults who are passionate about art and LEGO bricks.

Bridge over a pond of water lilies by Monet

In 1893 Monet, an avid gardener, purchased land with a pond near his property in Giverny with the intention of creating something “for the pleasure of the eyes and also to have subjects to paint.” Thus his water lily garden was born. In 1899 the artist began a series of eighteen views of the wooden bridge over the pond, completing during that summer twelve paintings, including the work Bridge over a Water Lily Pond. The vertical format of the painting, unusual for this series, enhances the water lilies and their reflection in the pond.
