From October 24, 2022, Ca’ Rezzonico in Venice will be closed to the public for major renovation , restoration, and fit-out works.

First and foremost, the ground floor spaces used for services and reception, which were severely compromised following high water damage in November 2019, will be refitted.

For security reasons, the Ca’ Rezzonico Museum will not be accessible to visitors until late spring 2023.

The palace houses the Museo del Settecento Veneziano and was built at the behest of the Bon family, which belonged to theancient Venetian nobility. However, the name of the palace is due to Giambattista Rezzonico, who purchased the building in 1750 and entrusted the completion work to architect Giorgio Massari; the initial construction project had been entrusted to Baldassarre Longhena, the architect responsible for the construction of Ca’ Pesaro and the Basilica della Salute.
